꧁꧂ Symbols Explained: 73 Stylish Symbols to Copy & Paste

You have seen names like ꧁༺ Ali ༻꧂ or 亗 Hamza 亗 in Free Fire and on Instagram. They look cool. But what are these symbols, and where do they come from?
They are not pictures and they are not a special font. Each one is a real character from the Unicode list. Unicode is the big table every phone uses to show text. It has letters from almost every language on earth, plus thousands of signs. Some of these signs look perfect around a name. That is the whole secret.
This guide explains 73 popular stylish symbols. For each one you get its real name, what it is used for, and a box you can tap to copy it. We also share 16 ready-made name designs and a short list of symbols you should not use.
How to copy a symbol
- Tap or long-press the symbol in a table below. Most phones will select it.
- Tap Copy.
- Open the game or app and paste it into the name box.
- Check the preview. If you see a box (▯), pick another symbol.
If you want your whole name styled at once, type it into our stylish name generator. It adds fonts and symbols for you, and you just pick the one you like.
1. Brackets and frames (12 pairs)
Frames are the most popular stylish symbols. You put one on the left and its partner on the right. ꧁꧂ is the king of this group. It comes from Javanese, a script used in Indonesia. In that script it is a decoration that opens and closes a text, so using it as a name frame is actually close to its real job.
You can also stack frames. Put ༺ ༻ inside ꧁ ꧂ and you get ꧁༺ Name ༻꧂. Just remember each symbol takes space, so long frames leave less room for your name.
| Symbol | Name | Where it looks good |
|---|---|---|
| ꧁ ꧂ | Javanese rerenggan (left and right) | Free Fire and PUBG names, big Instagram name lines |
| ༺ ༻ | Tibetan ornament marks | Inside ꧁꧂ for a double frame |
| 『 』 | White corner brackets | Clean frames for TikTok and WhatsApp names |
| 「 」 | Corner brackets | Short names, anime-style nicknames |
| 【 】 | Black lenticular brackets | Clan tags like 【PK】 |
| 〖 〗 | White lenticular brackets | Soft frame for girls' names |
| 《 》 | Double angle brackets | Team or guild tags |
| 〔 〕 | Tortoise shell brackets | Small, neat frames |
| ⟦ ⟧ | White square brackets | Tech or coder style names |
| ⦅ ⦆ | White parentheses | Minimal bios |
| ⫷ ⫸ | Triple nested arrows | Aggressive gaming names |
| ⊰ ⊱ | Curly relation marks | Cute frames around a name |
2. Crowns and royal symbols (7)
Here is a fun fact. Most "crown" symbols in names are really chess pieces. ♛ is the black queen and ♚ is the black king. They look like crowns, so people use them in king and queen names. The colour emoji 👑 looks great on Instagram and WhatsApp, but some games show emoji as a blank space.
| Symbol | Name | Where it looks good |
|---|---|---|
| ♛ | Black chess queen | The most used 'crown' in Pakistani FF names |
| ♚ | Black chess king | King names, Boy profiles |
| ♕ | White chess queen | Queen and princess names |
| ♔ | White chess king | Lighter king look |
| 👑 | Crown emoji | Instagram and WhatsApp, shows in colour |
| ⚜ | Fleur-de-lis | Classy or royal bios |
| ☬ | Khanda (a Sikh religious symbol) | Use with respect, see the note below |
A note on ☬: this is the Khanda, a holy symbol of the Sikh faith. It is very common in gaming names because of its shape. If you use it, use it with respect. Do not put it next to rude or vulgar words.
3. Hearts (10)
Hearts are the first choice for girls' names, couple names and love statuses. The tiny ღ is not really a heart. It is a letter from the Georgian alphabet. It just happens to look like a cute little heart, so the whole internet uses it that way.

6. Moon, flowers and nature (10)
These symbols feel soft and calm. ☾ and ☽ face each other, so they make a nice frame: ☾ Name ☽. ☪ is the star and crescent. It is on the flag of Pakistan, so many people use it in Islamic bios and national days.
| Symbol | Name | Where it looks good |
|---|---|---|
| ☾ | First quarter moon | Night or dreamy bios |
| ☽ | Last quarter moon | Pairs with ☾ |
| ☪ | Star and crescent | Islamic bios, Pakistan pride |
| ✿ | Black florette | Girls' names |
| ❀ | White florette | Cute frames |
| ❁ | Eight-petal flower | Decorative lines |
| ✾ | Six-petal flower | Bio dividers |
| ❃ | Heavy flower | Bold flower look |
| ☀ | Sun | Morning or happy bios |
| ☁ | Cloud | Soft aesthetic bios |
7. Arrows, ticks and small marks (8)
These are the quiet helpers of a good bio. They do not grab attention. They make lines easy to read. Use ➤ or ✓ to list your hobbies, and ⇢ to point at the link in your bio.
| Symbol | Name | Where it looks good |
|---|---|---|
| ➳ | Arrow with feathers | Love or cupid bios |
| ➶ | Curved arrow | Before a link line |

One honest warning: a ✔ next to your name does not make you verified. People can tell the difference. Use it for lists, not to pretend you have a blue tick.
8. Islamic and Pakistani symbols (6)
Many of our readers want a bio or status with a touch of deen. Unicode has a few Arabic signs that work well. ﷽ is the full Bismillah in one character. It looks lovely at the start of a status. ﷺ is the salawat. Please use it only right after the name of the Prophet Muhammad, and never as decoration in a gaming name.
| Symbol | Name | Where it looks good |
|---|---|---|
| ﷽ | Bismillah ligature | Start of a status or post |
| ﷺ | Salawat ligature | Only right after the Prophet's name |
| ۞ | Rub el Hizb mark | Islamic decoration |
| ۩ | Sajdah mark | Islamic decoration |
| 🇵🇰 | Pakistan flag emoji | Pride bios, 14 August, Iqbal Day |
| 🤲 | Palms up (dua) emoji | Dua statuses |

16 ready-made name designs
Here is how the symbols look when you put them together. Copy one and swap in your own name. Boys' designs come first, then girls', then a simple Islamic one.
Notice the pattern. Good designs use the same symbol on both sides, or a matching pair like ꧁ and ꧂. Random symbols on each side look messy.
Where symbols work (and where they don't)
- Free Fire and PUBG Mobile: most symbols in this guide are accepted in nicknames. Emoji may show as blank. Always look at the preview before you spend a rename card. See our PUBG names list for full examples.
- Instagram and TikTok: symbols work in the Name field and bio, but not in the username. Our Instagram bio fonts guide shows how to mix them with fonts. For TikTok names, open the TikTok names page.
- WhatsApp: works in your name, about and statuses. Your contacts see exactly what you paste.
- Discord: works in display names and server names. Try the Discord names page.
Why some symbols show as boxes
Your phone draws text using fonts. If no font on the phone has a picture for a character, it shows an empty box (▯) or a question mark. This is called "tofu" by font designers.
New phones have huge fonts and show almost everything. Older Android phones and some game engines have smaller fonts. So a symbol can look perfect on your phone and broken on your friend's. The safest symbols are the simple ones: ♛ ♡ ★ ✿ ☾ ➤. The riskiest are rare scripts and very new emoji.
Symbols you should avoid
- 卍 and 卐: these are ancient religious signs, but the world links them with Nazi Germany. Games and apps may ban your name, and people will judge you. Skip them.
- Religious symbols as jokes: ﷽, ﷺ, ☬ and ✝ mean a lot to millions of people. Do not mix them with rude words or "devil" style names.
- Too many invisible characters: some players fill their names with blank characters. Many games now block this, and it can make it hard for friends to find you.
- Ten symbols in one name: two or three is plenty. Your name should still be readable.
Save time: keep your favourite symbols handy
If you use the same symbols every day, stop searching for them. On Android, copy them once and pin them in your keyboard clipboard. Gboard and Samsung Keyboard both let you pin clips. On iPhone, open Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement. Add ♛ as the phrase and "crwn" as the shortcut. Now typing crwn gives you ♛.
You can also use our stylish keyboard page and the full symbols page, which has many more signs than we could fit here.
Frequently asked questions
What is the ꧁꧂ symbol called?
꧁ and ꧂ are Javanese script ornaments called rerenggan. They are real Unicode characters, so you can copy and paste them like normal text.
Why do some symbols show as boxes?
Your phone or the app has no font that can draw that character. Common symbols like ♛, ♡, ★ and ✿ work almost everywhere. Check your name on a friend's phone too.
Can I use symbols in my Free Fire name?
Yes. Free Fire accepts many symbols such as 亗, ꧁꧂ and ♛. Each one uses part of your name length, so paste first and check the preview before you pay for a name change card.
What does 亗 mean in Free Fire names?
It is a CJK (Chinese/Japanese) character. In names it is used only for its look, because it is sharp and symmetrical.
How do I type these symbols without copying every time?
Pin them in your Android keyboard clipboard, or set a Text Replacement shortcut on iPhone, as shown above.
Can I use symbols in my Instagram username?
No. Usernames only allow letters, numbers, full stops and underscores. Use symbols in your Name field and bio instead.
